Personally I use "StickyPassword" manager.
No I don't want to do this via password manager as they are CLUNKY AS HELL when it comes to this type of function. NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL.
Yes I would 100% prefer LicenceOne as it allows me to share access in a secure way and 100% control that access with my users. Also gives me 100% accurate data as to how many times they login. Ideally even more data like, "how long they were active using software" would be ideal too.
This alone is a reason for someone to use LicenceOne, as managing subscription costs and so on is one thing, but managing the LOGIN and the USE of subscriptions is a HUGE SELLING POINT... It could even become your 2nd BIG REASON to use LicenceOne :)
I think a simple "this is the login details - username/email + password" which would only appear for that user (those users) with access to that license record... would suffice. However, to answer the above "HeyLogin" an AS deal (current) is who we're using (team account). It would be simpler to just host the login details here vs a whole "password manager" app type development. Extra nice would be a "copy" button to the side of the record.
Any more thoughts on this?
As my decision to keep or refund AppSumo deal is about to come up, so I need to make a final decision.
As for the "copy" for passwords instead of a password management extension for the browser, that won't work as:
a) I don't want them to know the passwords.
b) Having the extension can tell us how many times they log in etc. Could extend this till how long that "tab" was "active" for also as a useful feature / information.
If you can please give a little more info if this is something licence.one will develop or not, as I need to make a choice, I am fully stacked so its is little hard just "wing it"...
@obiebrown
Sure 🙂
We're still short on the resources required to build a fully-functional password manager, and with the few votes this feature has received, we can't yet engage and say that we'll manage passwords in LicenceOne one day.
We'll still monitor this roadmap item for traction, as well as the password management market for exciting developments. It seems like HeyLogin, who are currently on AppSumo, have a refreshingly innovative approach to that - for example.
With that said, for point B I can say that we'll be developing a web extension that will allow SMEs to track employees' login activity and the time spent on each application. You can read more about that here:
We expect to begin working on the first version of said web extension at the start of next month and would expect it to be available to all users end of Q3/start of Q4.
Bests,
